Filming for Syfy’s upcoming Original Series, Haven, which you will remember is the new show Emily Rose (UNCHARTED‘s Elena Fisher) is to star in, has begun in earnest. It seems that Emily is thoroughly enjoying her time on set, saying that the town ‘had her at hello.‘ Speaking to the TV Squad, Emily explains her character’s background and motivation. “I’ve never played an orphan before,” she tells Bryan Reesman. “I think people could overlook that in Audrey if they’re not careful, and I don’t want that to be the case. I think the fact that she doesn’t have a place to go home to for Christmas, that she doesn’t have somebody to call at the end of a hard work week, is a big deal, and I think it’s important for me to remind myself of that.”
The character in question; one Audrey Parker, is a FBI Agent sent to Haven, Maine to solve a mysterious murder. Once there, she feels somehow attached to the place, and remains in order to solve her own personal mystery. Rose tells Bryan Reesman that the television adaptation is only relatively loosely based upon Stephen King’s novel, and that the show has the potential to last beyond its initial 13 episode run. I get the impression from this interview and from other sources that Emily Rose is incredibly excited to be given this role. “This is the first time she has gotten to play a detective, which she has wanted to do for a long time” says Reesman.
Emily maybe excited to have the part, but I am excited too. I can’t wait for it to air and for Emily’s career to take off. She thoroughly deserves it, don’t you think?
