The Nathan Fillion for Nathan Drake Campaign

Firefly and it’s film Serenity, Captain Hammer in the soon-to-be cult classic Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, and most recently Richard Castle in the hit ABC television series Castle, Nathan Fillion knows how to pick the right roles.

So much so, that he’s triggered a campaign to help get him cast as UNCHARTED’s Nathan Drake in the upcoming film adaptation of UNCHARTED: Drake’s Fortune. That film, which has recently had a director officially attached to the project, will reach the casting phase soon, and it’s all the more reason to help Nathan Fillion get the part.

But we can’t do it alone, and we’re going to give you the tools to help us! How do you get involved? Hit up the list below for materials such as banners, Twitter guidelines, widgets and more!

I've reached out to thousands since the news broke about Wahlberg. I've been working hard to rally the Browncoats and Castillions to keep fighting on to get Nathan cast as Drake. While striving to be sensitive to followers and try to not blow out their Twitter timelines, we have to strike while the iron is hot.

Please help our efforts by sending out this link for folks to write in and let their voices be heard: http://tinyurl.com/373xyye

Chris, thank you so much for encouraging us and letting us know that there's still hope! Carry on, Nathanites!

So is this casting news about Wahlberg a done deal? Sigh. I know he asked us to help him out, but when I think about it, I guess I don't believe Nate would have had a good time being directed by David O. Russell at any rate, being cut from the same decent cloth George Clooney is. And I guess I'll leave it at that so as not get on a slag pity-party wagon.

Since the latest news about other potential actors being considered for the part, we must dig in and fight to get Nathan Fillion cast as Nathan Drake! Here are more sites to write in and tell 'em who you want!

I am a Hugh Jackman fanboy, but also a Nathan Fillion one and I have to say I think Nathan will fit the roll better than Hugh. I've only just heard of this campaign today (though I know Nathan's name was thrown around when the film was first mentioned.) so I deffinitely hope he get's the role!

Also, Claudia Black HAS to reprise her roll as Chloe Frazier in the film. I can't think of any actress who could fill her shoes. Any thoughts?

I've gathered 170 sites so far, and I've put them all together here: http://tl.gd/6kmi77 As more come in, I'll add them.

The more comments we Browncoats and Castillions write in on participating sites, the more successful we'll be in our campaign!

Does anyone have a sense how the campaign is going (thank you for this cool site and campaign)? I've posted a comment in about 30+ of the links Kcat10 has provided, but only seen a few other positive sound bytes. I've also posted several times at Twitter to the suggest spots, SonyRumors, etc. A concern with this kind of campaign, though it isn't directly aimed at a studio, is to alienate the filmmakers themselves with unwanted requests, no matter how polite. Anyway, Nathan asked and I am always pleased to help him.

@chrisfullman @TonyaJ Thanks, Chris. Yeah, I agree; I've taken some time off from posting anything anywhere this past while to let it breathe a little. I've left only one comment on each of the sites, with perhaps a few exceptions to give more information, such as where people can find your cool site here. I'm hoping more supporters like Tonya will write in a comment on lots of sites, too. (That's what I meant when I thanked her for posting lots of comments!)

I'm hoping our efforts will awaken folks to join us. I guess everything has its own timing. What do you think of what's been done so far? Do you think physical letters to Sony Pictures would help? If so, who and where would we write? I've tried to research this but haven't found much yet. If we could accomplish it just on Twitter, great. Just wondering what other positive ways might be most effective.

(Good to know about the chat info! Thanks!)

@Kcat10 @TonyaJ Just keep up the word, but remember not to do it a lot so it starts to look like spam. If enough people do it, the producers will start to notice the word is getting out. Fans trying to see their favorite actors cast for a part is nothing new, so while they may be unwanted requests, they're not doing to hurt anything.

Also, if you two time it just right, you can see each other's comments show up on this site instantly and chat. :)

@TonyaJ You rock for posting lots of comments! Thanks for supporting Nathan in this. I too, want to do this the right way. I'm trying to find a balance here so just the right amount is done. Like you, I'm not sure what that is yet. All we can do is our best!

I've noticed the word is getting out; some of the sites I've gathered have scads of comments voting for him! At this point I'm hoping that it will be a case of the majority rules. It does count to studios when lots of folks request something like this, as history has shown.

I'm interested in what others feel about how to get the best results, too. Folks?

WoW, not sure what is up with all the anger. We r just a bunch of fans of an actor that we support. I don't see much difference between movies and tv. Live theater now THAT is different. Did you know he has already been in movies. I think a lot of movies and TV have to do with the writing, but there r some actors who even botch that up. I would like to know who you think r some good actors who might fit this roll rather than Nathan?

Jesus, could we stop with this awful campaigns?
Filion is awful. If he should be in the movie I wouldn't watch it (And I can't wait for the movie for the greatest game ever created so far)...
HE IS A TV ACTOR GODDAMNIT. HE DOESN'T FIT IN A BIG BLOCKBUSTER MOVIE AT ALL.

@Creasy Nathan Fillion is a brilliant actor. And he's already a movie star. Remember Serenity? Slither? White Noise 2? Check his resumé on IMDB for more! He'll make "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" ROCK! #NathanFillionForNathanDrake !

@Bongo_15 @Creasy I agree with Bongo, everyone has to start somewhere. I am surprised to find out the odd things some actors have done over the years.(some good, some bad) Again, we r just a bunch of fans trying to get our currant "fave" actor into a roll. It is just fun trying, do we rely thing our efforts are going to reach the right people, maybe, maybe not, but it is fun trying :)

@Creasy For your information, "big blockbuster movie" actors got their start on television. For example, Brad Pitt, Leonardo Di Caprio, George Clooney, and Johnny Depp....just to name a few. So I would think twice before dissing a tv actor, and calling him unfit for the big screen.

chrisfullman
chrisfullman moderator like.author.displayName like.author.displayName 2 Like

@Creasy TV actors can't be movie actors? Should I remind you that even great movie-only actors can be horrible in films? It all depends on the writing and direction. Even Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, and Natalie Portman were (honestly) horrible in Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace, but are excellent in most of their other movies.
