Way back in 2008, Naughty Dog gave the public its first glimpses at this eagerly anticipated sequel. Using the Spike TV Video Game Awards as a forum, the team debuted this teaser trailer in an effort to spark discussion about the franchise again. After all, the first game in the series, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, was an unprecedented success for Sony and the PS3 in the early stages of its existence, and retaining that momentum was paramount.
The teaser featured above did a very good job at reminding us all of exactly why we loved the first game – it was charming as hell. As soon as the suave stylings of Nolan North kick in, memories of Drake’s Fortune come flooding back, and you know damn well this is a sequel worth checking out. Indeed, this teaser ended up being many peoples highlight of the show. Kids talked about it around the water cooler (they still do that right?) at school the next day. And with this tasty morsel, Naughty Dog had started the hype train that is still going strong.
I think that’s a pretty big testament to how truly polished and quality this title, and its developer , are perceived to be. That more than a year or so after tidbits first started showing up, excitement and positive outlook are as high as they’ve ever been. Group that with the ridiculously high score it has on Metacritic, and you’re looking at something special.
