Nolan North, the talented voice actor known to UNCHARTED fans as the voice of Nathan Drake, among many other video game characters, recently weighed in during an OPM UK podcast on who he thinks should play his alter ego in the upcoming UNCHARTED movie:
[Hugh] Jackman is who I’d like to see. I think the producers would like to see Jackman too, because he has that tough guy exterior, but […] there’s also a lot going on behind his eyes. A lot of emotion and sensitivity on that brusque exterior, and he has great comic timing. He’s a phenomenal actor. I just hope I get a part on the movie so I can work with Hugh.
While there’s reason to believe Nolan is purely speculating based off of Hugh’s popularity as Wolverine in the silver screen’s adaptation of the X-Men among his other films, Nolan may indeed be hinting at the front runner for the movie.
We find it interesting that a good number of blogs have interpreted this comment by Nolan as everything short of an actual casting selection by the producers of the UNCHARTED movie currently in development. No official announcements have been made by the producers about the casting, nor have any industry trade magazines backed this speculation up at this point.
Give us your thoughts on Hugh Jackman, and whether there may be more to this quote than just Nolan’s speculation in the comments below!
